ROMAL PALMER revealed that ‘The Boss’ at St Patrick’s Athletic was why he has now signed permanently in Inchicore.
Palmer, 25, has signed permanently on a two-year contract with the Saints having impressed on loan from Turkish side Goztepe last season.
His form in the second half of the year led to St Pat’s fans singing a song about him to the tune of ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen’s Dancing in the Dark.
But Palmer crested club boss Kenny will igniting his career after a foot injury meant he rarely featured before the former Ireland gaffer’s arrival in late May.
Having not started a single game before Kenny took charge, he became a key man in their European run before a knee injury halted his progress late in the campaign.
Former Manchester City trainee Palmer said: “The way that I was received by everyone when I joined last season.
“The gaffer Stephen Kenny coming in helped me a lot, confidence wise and building me up and I feel like that is what I need at this point of my career…
“To get back playing games and try to be the best version of myself and I feel like I can do that at St Pat’s.
“It’s a brilliant club. I can’t wait to be back at Richmond to see all the fans and push on from there.”
