Rathfarnham Castle Christmas Market

Sunday, December 8, 10am to 5pm

The 2024 Rathfarnham Castle Christmas Market is happening this Sunday, with last admissions at 4.15pm.

“An amazing selection of Irish crafters will pop up for one day only, a perfect location to purchase unique Christmas gifts while soaking up some Christmas cheer – and to add up the fun, Rathfarnham castle is offering free admission to the Castle.”

Christmas at Dublin Castle

Open daily until December 18, 12 noon to 9pm

You can stroll through beautifully decorated market stalls with handcrafted gifts, seasonal crafts and delicious treats from artisanal food producers.

Enjoy live entertainment in the festively decorated Spiegel style marquee and marvel at the Neapolitan crib in the Chapel Royal. You can also explore the enchanting State Apartments – open for all visitors.

Swords Castle Markets

Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, 11am to 6pm

Swords Castle is transformed into a fairytale setting, with organisers promising to “bring together the very best of the season’s magic and traditions”.

Alongside the usual stalls, Santa will be available each day from €6 per child, to include a small selection box and emailed photo. No booking required, first come first served.

Dublin’s newest festive experience has a European-style market, filled with artisan food & drinks, crafts and stocking fillers.

Guests have been getting into the festive spirit at Smithfield Square, visiting the first ever Ice Museum in Ireland. There’s also an ice rink, a ferris wheel and a nutcracker snug, which has an Alpine Lodge, ideal for a quick break from the attractions.

Botanic Gardens Eco Christmas Craft Market

Saturday and Sunday, December 14 and 15, 10am to 4.30pm

This eco-event will feature over 70 stallholders, both indoors and outdoors, with organisers promisng “to reduce our carbon footprint and to promote local craft workers”.

“All stall holders have passed the stringent application process and must have ethically and sustainably produced crafts and products, preferably hand made in Ireland,” they said.

“We also have choirs, Christmas plant walks and lots more.”

The Fumbally Market, Portobello

Friday, December 6 (12-7pm); Saturday and Sunday, December 6 and 8 (10am to 6pm)

In the Fumbally Stables there’ll be a wide variety of stalls like Molloy’s blankets, Kirk modern, Scéal Bakery, Brenda Kearney pottery, Grown clothing, Native Circles art, Corleggy Cheese, Lilliput, White Mausu, the Sustainable Store, Trash Bag, Liadain Aiken, Queens of Neon and more.

Tallaght Winter Market

Friday, December 6, 12-8pm

A Christmas Market will take place at Parthalán Place in Tallaght on December 6. Discover unique gifts from local artisans, seasonal treats, live music, and activities for the whole family.

Taking place beside the Civic Theatre, there’ll be local crafts, mouth-watering food, a tree-lighting ceremony, and all-day entertainment from 12pm to 8pm.

The MART Christmas Market, Rathmines

Daily until December 22, 1-7pm

This creative-led market is back every day until December 22 at the MART Gallery on Rathmines Road Lower in Dublin 6.

Organisers said: “Join us … for a holiday shopping experience featuring local artists, designers, and crafters bringing you the best in unique, local handmade gifts.”

You can browse original paintings and illustrations, handmade decorations, pottery and ceramics, as well as unique clothing, jewellery and cozy knitwear.

Stillgarden Christmas Market, Inchicore

Sunday, December 8, 11am to 7pm

This family (and doggy) friendly market will see vendors showcase jewellery, handmade skincare, art, crafts, illustrations, and homeware. The Stillgarden Gift Shop will also be open with a range of gift sets.

If you fancy a tipple as you mosey around the stalls, there will be a Stillgarden Distillery bar serving traditional mulled drinks with a Stillgarden Twist. The Stillgarden Coffee Shop will also be open serving coffees, teas and delicious snacks.

Henry Street Markets

Daily until December 24

Henry Street Christmas market is an honoured tradition in Dublin, running daily right up until Christmas eve.

Organisers said: “The atmosphere can’t be got anywhere else in the world but in the Henry street part of Dublin, where you are not only treated with a smile, but the banter is second to none.

“Nowhere else can beat it, so why not drop in to us if even only for a chat as it’s the heart of Dublin.”

Bremore Castle Christmas Market, Balbriggan

Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8, 11am to 6pm

As well as the traders with unique gifts, Bremore Castle Christmas Market offers lots of family fun, including Santa Claus, children’s entertainment and a full programme of carol singing and live music.
