RTÉ employees are to receive a non-taxable voucher of up to €1,000 as part of an interim arrangement while pay negotiations are ongoing.
Unions said at the time that they were lodging the claim with a view to having it in place at the end of November.
RTÉ and the TUG said in a joint statement today that following a conciliation conference with the internal Industrial Relations Tribunal (IRT) both sides have agreed to continue discussions on the TUG pay claim in 2025.
“In light of this, an interim arrangement has been agreed by RTÉ and the TUG which will see a non-taxable voucher of up to €1,000 being provided to RTÉ employees who are in employment with RTÉ on 31st December 2024, on the same basis as previously,” according to the joint statement.
“This interim arrangement will run until 30 April 2025 at which point a new collective pay agreement will take effect.
“Vouchers will issue as early as possible in the New Year following a tender process and more information will follow in due course,” RTÉ and the TUG said.
The last pay agreement was in November 2022, when RTÉ staff received a 6% increase, over a two year period.
As part of the deal, employees were also given a non-taxable voucher of €1,000 in early 2023 and a further voucher of €500 in January 2024.
