Traffic chaos alert after TWO multi-vehicle crashes on Dublin’s M50 motorway

ROAD users have been warned of several delays on Dublin’s M50 this morning after traffic chaos following two crashes on the motorway.

Two multi-vehicle collisions on the M50 caused delays in the capital for motorists this morning.

One incident occurred northbound on the slip by J13, Dundrum.

TII advised: “Some delays to your journey may occur.

“When approaching the collision location, drive with caution, reduce your speed and please obey instructions from emergency services.”

Both lanes northbound and southbound are still “in operational use”.

However, the collision has resulted in congestion southbound at Junction 10 Ballymount, Junction 12 Firhouse and Junction 13 Dundrum.

Southbound is experiencing more delays between Junction four Ballymun and Junction six.

There’s also congestion southbound between Junction five on the M50/N2 and Junction seven on the M50/N4 and also between Junction three on the M1/M50 and Junction five on the M50/N2.

Another multi-vehicle crash has been reported between Junction three on Dublin’s M1/M50 and Junction four Ballymun.

TII said that “minor delays to your journey may occur”.

And on the M50 northbound, there’s congestion between Junction twelve Firhouse and Junction nine on the N7, which is Red Cow.

There’s also delays northbound between Junction 17 on the M50/M11 and Junction 14 on the N31 for Dun Laoghaire.

Some commuters travelling with Irish Rail and Bus Eireann are also facing delays and disruptions on certain routes.

Irish Rail took to X to warn commuters that the 07.45am Bray to Howth was cancelled due to “operational issues”.

They said: “Update: DART & Commuter services are operating with delays of up to +20mins due to a signalling issue between Shankill-Killiney.

“Knock-on delays can be expected as a result of congestion on the line.”

SERVICE CANCELLED

And the 8am Belfast/Connolly will operate at reduced capacity due to a “technical issue”.

Bus Eireann have also announced service disruption on the 303, 329 and the 422 in the Western/North Western region.

For route 303, services ex Rosmor to Georgian village are cancelled due to a road closure. Service will depart at O’Malley Park on Sunny Heights until the road is opened.

Route 329’s services are diverted at the Four Elms inbound from Kilfinnane and at the Kilmallock roundabout outbound to Kilfinnane due to a road closure.

Meanwhilel the 6.10am on route 422 was earlier cancelled Castlebar to Headford.

Bus Eireann apologised for “any inconvenience this may cause” to customers.
