A man has been arrested following a fatal hit-and-run incident in Blanchardstown in Dublin, in which two people were killed.
The incident happened on Blanchardstown Road North, near the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, at around 5.45pm yesterday when a car hit four pedestrians.
A woman in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene and a man in his 40s was seriously injured at later passed away in hospital.
No other injuries were reported.
A man in his 40s was arrested by gardaí yesterday in connection with the incident and is being held at a garda station in Dublin.
A technical examination of the scene was carried out and the road has reopened.
Gardaí have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident to contact them.
Any road users or pedestrians who were in the Blanchardstown Road North area, between 5pm and 6pm yesterday and have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
