The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth has reiterated its assertion that a site in south County Dublin is not currently being examined for use as an International Protection Accommodation Service (IPAS) centre, despite the outcome of a recent planning application laying the groundwork for this to happen.
It follows a decision by Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council last month that planning permission is not needed to utilise Clontra House, an historic house on some 19 acres in Shankill, to accommodate international protection applicants.
