Tomás Quinn has been confirmed as the new Chief Executive Officer at Shelbourne FC.

Quinn will join Shelbourne from Dublin GAA where he has been the Commercial and Marketing Director since 2013.

Over the past decade he has spearheaded an era of remarkable commercial growth and the continued evolution of Dublin GAA off the pitch, as well as the template on how other GAA Counties can approach the issues of partnership.

He also brings an understanding and experience of operating in an elite level sport environment, having represented Dublin in inter-county football for over a decade and enjoying a long and decorated club career with St. Vincents GAA.

“I’m thrilled to join Shelbourne FC at such an exciting time in the club’s journey,” said Quinn.

“I’m looking forward to working with the board, the staff and the fans to build on last year’s achievements and taking a leadership role in continuing to lay the foundations for many years of future success and stability.”

“Shelbourne is a club with a proud history and strong community ethos and I’m enthused to deepen the connection between the club, its community, its partners and its growing fan base.”

“Coming in to the club at this time in its illustrious history is a privilege and it is an immense honour to lead this Dublin institution as CEO.”

“We are delighted to welcome Tomás to Shelbourne FC – I know he will be central in capitalising on the club’s momentum over the coming years,” added Shelbourne FC co-owner, Neil Doyle.

“His appointment will support our continued drive to elevate all aspects of the club’s performance and further strengthen our engagement with fans and the local community.”

“Tomás understands what it means to be a football fan, a commercial leader and an elite sportsperson – a unique combination which equips him to lead the next chapter in the club’s development.”

This appointment represents a significant step for Shelbourne FC as it aims to build on the success of 2024 and lay the foundations for success both on and off the pitch this year and beyond.

Neil Doyle, Shelbourne co-owner, will continue to oversee club operations in the short term before Quinn takes up the role in early April 2025.

Quinn replaces Barry Mocke, the previous CEO who parted company amicably with the club last week.

SPORT FOR BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

Tomás Quinn was instrumental in the success of the AIG partnership with Dublin GAA and the transition after a decade of partnership to a new relationship with Staycity Aparthotels.  He is as big a signing as any in the close season of the SSE Airtricity league of Ireland and adds to the excitement of what we can look forward to in 2025.
