Addleshaw Goddard (AG) has opened applications for its business accelerator programme, AG Elevate, providing Irish tech companies with the opportunity to secure a package of tailored legal advice to help them grow at scale.

Last year’s programme featured two Irish businesses, both from the Healthcare sector: UCD spinout EpiCapture, which develops novel epigenetic tests that detect and monitor a range of cancers; and Galway based SymPhysis Medical, a business aimed at enhancing the patient pathway in palliative care to provide patient independence and reduce hospitalisations.

The ten-month programme will provide selected growth-stage businesses with legal advice, regular mentorship meetings and access to AG’s global roster of seminars and networking events, many of which are attended by leading business executives, financiers and industry experts.

To qualify for AG Elevate, companies must be based within the technology sector, have plans to achieve high-growth status and have been the recipient of either seed or later funding.

The full support package offered by the AG Elevate accelerator programme is as follows:

  • An assigned legal mentor who will meet with the business every month.
  • 25 hours of free legal advice on specialist areas
  • Access to AG’s legal seminars and networking events
  • Access to AG’s legal updates and other publications
  • Access to regular insight sessions hosted in collaboration with business mentors in the AG network
  • All other legal advice offered by AG will be provided at a 30 per cent discount

The firm will accept applications for AG Elevate from companies that are primarily based in either Ireland, the UK, France, Spain or Germany. The deadline for applications to AG Elevate is 31 July 2024.

Elvan Hussein, Partner at Addleshaw Goddard, said: “It can be incredibly difficult for start-up and scale-up businesses to navigate the myriad of legal and operational challenges which are common during their growth stages.

“AG Elevate provides businesses with legal support and mentoring, using our vast in-house knowledge of the tech sector to help businesses overcome barriers to growth and scale up to the next level.

“What we are looking for is interesting, ambitious tech companies with strong leadership who are passionate about their product or service and can demonstrate high growth potential.”
