Speaking about the new Aer Lingus route, Tolene van der Merwe, Director of Visit Malta for the UK and Ireland said: “We are delighted to officially launch the new Aer Lingus route to Malta this week. Malta is a very popular destination for Irish visitors and these new flights from Dublin will give our Irish visitors many more opportunities to experience our stunning Islands.”

Aer Lingus, Chief Customer Officer Susanne Carberry said: Aer Lingus is committed to offering our customers new and exciting destinations to discover. Malta, with its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife, offers an unforgettable experience. Beyond the warm weather, visitors can immerse themselves in the rich heritage and history of the islands. With three flights per week, our new route ensures both convenience and comfort, making it easier than ever to explore this Mediterranean gem.”

Tolene van der Merweconcluded:“This year we have already seen a 10% increase in visitor numbers from Dublin to Malta compared to 2023 and we are excited about the potential to continuing growing these numbers in the months ahead. We are looking forward to working with the team at Aer Lingus and making the route a great success. Malta and Gozo’s mild winter climate means it is the ideal destination for a winter holiday or a Christmas/New Year break and is just a three-and-a-half-hour flight away. This is a very exciting day for Malta and Ireland.”
