Aideen Walsh has become the latest Irish amateur to be added to the field for next week’s KPMG Women’s Irish Open in Carton House.

Walsh will be one of nine amateurs teeing it up on the O’Meara course as she makes her third appearance in the event.

AIG Irish Women’s Close champion Canice Screene of Croham Hurst has also been added to the field.

Roisin Scanlon, Annabel Wilson, Kate Lanigan, Emma Fleming, Kate Dillon, Remi Bacardi and Olivia Costello are also in the field as is Anna Foster who will be making her professional debut.

Lanigan (Hermitage) will be very familiar with Carton House as it is the training base for the Maynooth University golf team while she also competes for the Carton House Senior Cup team.

“I’ve been part of the Carton House Senior Cup team for the last few years, and I live close to it so it’s a great facility. The O’Meara course is beautiful so it should be a great venue.”
