A huge incident at Dublin Airport has caused disruption in the area.

An Garda Síochána took to social media just after 1 pm to inform the public about the situation.

The statement said: “Traffic Update Dublin: Gardaí at Dublin Airport are currently at the scene of an ongoing incident and wish to advise that traffic in the area is affected.”

They warned motorists of the potential disruption to their journeys.

The post added: “Motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.”

It has since been removed from social media platform X, and it is unknown as to why.

There has been no further information issued regarding the incident from any of the local authorities. The Irish Mirror reported that they have approached both An Garda Síochána and the daa (Dublin Airport Authority) for further details.

A few days ago, Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s after discovering the passenger who came from Amsterdam had drugs.

Revenue officers seized approximately five grammes of LSD worth over €200,000 (£167,140.00) at the airport on Friday.

The man was charged and due before the Criminal Courts of Justice in Dublin on Monday morning.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
