Armagh have made one change from the side that beat Kerry for Sunday’s eagerly anticipated All-Ireland SFC final clash with Galway in Croke Park.
That switch comes in defence with Connaire Mackin replacing Peter McGrane. Mackin comes into the half back line with Barry McCambridge switching to the number four shirt. McGrane, who scored a point against Kerry, is set to start on the bench.
Otherwise, it’s as you were for Kieran McGeeney’s men with the Armagh manager resisting the urge to start any of the subs that helped them over the line in the extra-time win over Kerry last time out.
That means Stefan Campbell is held in reserve after another impressive cameo against the Kingdom alongside the likes of Ross McQuillan, Oisin O’Neill, Aidan Nugent and Jarly Og Burns.
Maghery’s Aidan Forker captains the side from half back with Rian O’Neill named at centre-half forward. Blaine Hughes continues in goal with recently crowned All-Ireland road bowls champion Ethan Rafferty acting as his deputy on the bench.
This will be the sixth championship meeting between the sides. Armagh’s solitary win came in the All-Ireland group stage in 2023 with Galway winning four including a victory on penalties in 2022. The sides also drew earlier in this year’s championship.
