A wide-open Championship reaches the final four this Saturday as Armagh are set to take on Kerry in a mouth-watering tie. The four remaining teams may feel pressure to replicate the entertainment and drama we witnessed in the hurling semi-finals last weekend. Here’s everything you need to know about Armagh v Kerry.

Saturday will be Armagh’s first semi-final since 2005 and the first time the sides have met in championship action since 2006 with Kerry aiming to reach their 3rd decider in a row.

With the favourites and reigning Champions Dublin crashing out in the quarter-final, there is a huge opportunity for both sides.

For Armagh, defeat to Donegal on penalties in the Ulster decider has been the only negative in a largely positive season for Kieran McGeeney’s men that has produced promotion in Divison 2 of the league while also topping their championship group that included Derry, Galway and Westmeath.

Munster champions Kerry will go into this game unbeaten in six games having cruised through Munster as expected while also topping their championship group ahead of Louth, Meath and Monaghan with minimal fuss.

To get to this stage, Armagh were in control in defeating Roscommon by 6 while Kerry wore down Derry in a desperately dull quarter-final to run out winners by 5.

While Kerry are favourites, Armagh will not approach Saturday with fear after seeing how Derry managed to keep a number of the Kingdom’s danger men quiet for periods in the quarter-final and they will hope their ability to create goal chances may be the key in opening up Kerry’s defence.

When is Armagh v Roscommon?

Armagh are set to take on Kerry this Saturday July 13th at Croke Park with throw-in scheduled for 5.30pm.

How to watch Armagh v Roscommon?

The match will be broadcast live on The Sunday Game on RTÉ Two. Coverage get underway at 2.45pm for the Tailteann cup final between Down and Laois.

Team News

Kerry and Armagh have both name unchanged teams for their All-Ireland SFC semi-final at Croke Park on Saturday.

Kieran McGeeney has opted not to start Stefan Campbell, this after the Clan na Gael clubman made a big impact off the bench a fortnight ago against Roscommon.

Armagh have plenty of attacking options in reserve with Jason Duffy, Aidan Nugent, Oisin O’Neill and Ross McQuillan named among the substitutes.

The Kerry management have opted for the same line-up for the third consecutive outing, Killian Spillane and Dylan Geaney haven’t been able to force their way into the starting team, but will no doubt see some game-time for the Kingdom on Saturday.
