Man-of-the-match Eoghan McLaughlin ‘proud’ of his team-mates

“We knew it would be a tough game. It was a hot hot day. I’m super proud of the lads, we dug it out,” he said.

“We always know playing Roscommon was going to be a battle. It was great game, I’m happy to be on the right side of it. And looking forward to our next game in two weeks now.”

“We all know how good the two lads are,” he said of their injured duo Paddy Durcan and Diarmuid O’Connor.

Durcan will be out for the season having suffered an ACL injury but McLaughlin says O’Connor will be hoping to be back for their next game.

“They’re leaders for Mayo throughout the last few years. Diarmuid is working away in the background trying to get back for the next game.”

“Paddy is our captain. He’s a leader on and off the pitch. He’s supporting us throughout the whole year. And we’re going to support him as well throughout the whole injury.
