Joe Russo, known for his work on Marvel’s Avengers series, was pictured visiting popular Dublin speakeasy Hacienda in Smithfield, which regularly attracts star guests.

Shay shared a photo of himself with the director on social media yesterday evening, telling followers he was delighted to welcome the Marvel movie director to the bar.

He is one of many famous faces who have dropped into Hacienda for a pint over the years, with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Kings of Leon, Domhnall Gleeson, Paul Mescal, and Barry Keoghan choosing it as their watering hole for an evening.

Alongside his brother Anthony, Russo co-directed and produced several blockbuster films, including Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which are among the highest-grossing movies of all time.

The brothers started out in television and indie films, before gaining fame within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Known for their collaborative directing style, the Russos have become influential figures in modern action cinema.

He recently made headlines in Ireland after doing an interview with young Irish YouTuber Daniel Fee, during which he invited the Irishman to visit several of his film sets in Los Angeles.

The Irish YouTuber recently shared an image of the pair on the set of Citadel, a series the Russo brothers created for Prime Video.

The now 17-year-old was thrilled with the invite at the time, telling Geek Ireland that the director was “one of the kindest guys” he had ever interviewed.

“He couldn’t have been any nicer, and I just can’t believe he was kind enough to make this offer. I think you can see in the video I was genuinely speechless. I thought he was joking at first,” he said.

“His people reached out afterwards. Whoever says don’t meet your heroes is wrong! Words can’t express how grateful I am to Joe, and I can’t wait to see where this goes! He’s a true hero.”

The Russo brothers have recently confirmed their return to Marvel to direct two upcoming Avengers films.
