We’ve all made it to the airport, gone through security, and then just as we’re settling into a well-deserved pre-flight beverage had the shock realisation that we’ve left our toothbrush at home.
If this rings a bell for you, then we’re afraid we have bad news if you’re flying from Dublin Airport’s Terminal 1 in the next few weeks.
One of the handiest shops that has saved us on more than one occasion is closing its doors and we’ll now have to hoof it over to Terminal 2 to find the nearest Boots.
The Boots store in Terminal 1 will close on October 31 and comes amid ongoing works to the airport which will see a new corridor added to the terminal, according to Extra.ie.
The creation of the corridor means there’s no longer space for the Boots shop that we’ve become oh so reliant on in holidays past.
A spokesperson for the DAA told Extra.ie that they had been in talks with Boots but failed to reach an agreement that would keep a shop in Terminal 1.
They said: ‘We look forward to announcing details of exciting new changes and additions to the T1 retail offering very soon, and we’re confident that passengers will like what comes next.’
While we’ll be mourning the loss of our plane journey Boots meal deal, at least there are plenty of other options available for us in Terminal 1.
Over the summer Butlers Chocolate Café made a sweet arrival at Terminal 1 and it looks like we’ll just have to treat ourselves before our next holiday (like we needed any more reason!)
