DUBLIN has lost another popular pub as one south city centre spot has closed its doors after almost 25 years.
Leonard’s Corner at the junction of the South Circular Road and Clanbrassil Street, thanked its staff and customers after pouring their last pint.
Owners Gerry and Phil took to social media to share their message of gratitude after almost a quarter of a century making memories at their much loved pub.
They said: “After almost 25 years, the time has come for me to pass the reins of my pride and joy into other hands.

“We have had the best journey and enjoyed every minute of time with you all.
“To all our loyal customers, you have made Leonard’s Corner a very special place and we want to thank each and every one of you, as without you it wouldn’t have been the same.”
The pair said the time felt right to make the move and that they will “always think fondly” of their staff and customers.
They continued: “It hasn’t been an easy decision to move on but we feel it is the right time.
“It is now our turn to have our adventrures.
“We will always think fondly of our time in Leonard’s Corner with all our wonderful staff and customers.
“We wish everyone well and again, thank you to you all.
“It is not a goodbye but see you later.”
Patrons flocked to the comments of the post to share their heartache at the closing of the “best pub ever.”
One person wrote: “Thanks for all the great nights and great toasties Gerry.
“Best pub ever.
“Sadly, I couldn’t get in for a final pint before the doors closed.
“Best of luck to you and enjoy everything that is to come!”
