Blanchardstown: Husband and wife die after Dublin hit-and-run

The man and woman who died after a hit-and-run crash in Blanchardstown in Dublin were a married couple.

A car struck four pedestrians near Blanchardstown Shopping Centre at about 17:45 local time on Thursday.

The victims have been named locally as 40-year-old Anthony Hogg and his 39-year-old wife, Georgina Hogg Moore.

She was pronounced deceased at the scene on Thursday evening while her husband’s death was announced on Friday morning.

Officers said the driver failed to remain at the scene.

They arrested a man in his 40s in connection with the hit-and-run on Thursday evening and he remains in custody.

They have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision or who has camera footage of the scene to contact them.
