HOLIDAYMAKERS using Dublin Airport are set to benefit from the reopening of a massive facility next year.
The 42-acre site, which has been out of action since 2020, will open its gates on March 10, 2025.
It will provide over 6,100 parking spaces under the new “Park2Travel” brand.
Located just 1.5km from the airport terminal, the car park will be connected by frequent complimentary shuttle buses.
This will ensure a convenient experience for travellers.
The facility is to be managed by APCOA, Europe’s largest parking company.
The company which operates car parks at major airports across the continent, including London Heathrow, Berlin Brandenburg, and Milan Malpensa.
Passengers will also benefit from a pre-booking system available at park2travel.ie, allowing them to secure parking spaces in advance.
This feature is expected to alleviate the high demand for parking that has caused issues in recent years, especially during peak travel periods.
Neil Cunningham, Managing Director of APCOA Ireland, said the reopening would be a game-changer for Dublin Airport passengers.
He explained: “We are delighted to have been appointed to manage this valuable asset.
“Increasing the supply of parking to meet the growing demand at Dublin airport and giving customers a reliable and convenient parking experience.”
The car park’s reopening comes as demand for air travel continues to soar.
With parking shortages previously leading to frustrations among travellers, particularly during this time of year.
Dublin Airport has faced significant challenges during busy weekends and summer months, with spaces often fully booked well in advance.
The revamped facility promises to ease those pressures, giving passengers more choice and flexibility for their journeys.
APCOA, which manages parking services at 60 airports across Europe, is known for its innovative solutions and focus on customer experience.
In addition to the free shuttle buses, the new car park will feature advanced technology, trained personnel, and a focus on smooth operations.
The reopening of the car park marks a significant milestone in Dublin Airport’s efforts to improve infrastructure and meet the growing needs of travellers.
With just weeks to go until its launch, the facility is set to provide much-needed relief for passengers heading off on their holidays in 2025.
In the travel sector, APCOA group claims to provide “best-in-class parking and traffic management solutions at 830 locations, including 60 airports across Europe”.
