Bord Gáis Energy has renewed its sponsorship of the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin for another 10 years.

The new 10-year partnership with Crownway Entertainment Limited will see Bord Gáis Energy continue its role as the venue’s naming rights sponsor of the country’s biggest fixed-seat theatre.

Bord Gáis Energy has sponsored the theatre since 2012, making it one of the longest running arts sponsorships in the country.

The partnership has supported over 450 productions and over 3,500 performances including smash hit musicals such as Hamilton, The Lion King, Wicked and Mamma Mia, while over 5.5 million people have visited the venue for its productions.

Dave Kirwan, Managing Director of Bord Gáis Energy, said the announcement of the agreement with Crownway Entertainment Limited to sponsor the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre for a further 10 years is good news for the arts and great news for Bord Gáis Energy customers.

“Our 12-year partnership has brought the magic and energy of live entertainment to millions of people. We look forward to continuing to support the theatre in bringing world class shows to Ireland, while infusing our cultural landscape with vibrant energy and connecting people through the magic of the arts,” he added.

John Gallagher, Chairman of Crownway Entertainment, said the successful partnership and its extension is an endorsement of the quality and value of the theatre and the staff that work there.

“As owner of the theatre, Crownway will continue its long-term investment, to ensure it remains a world class entertainment venue and a landmark building for the city,” Mr Gallagher added.
