A car, electronic devices and financial documents were seized today following a search operation in Donegal and Dublin.
The operation, led by the Criminal Assets Bureau, was conducted as part of an on-going proceeds of crime investigation targeting assets, including real estate, deriving in whole or in part from the proceeds of criminal activity.
A 2023 Volvo XC90 was also seized along with approximately €73,000 in a bank account.
This particular investigation was supported by a number of Good Citizen Reports (GCRs) and also with the assistance of a Divisional Assets Profiler.
Support was provided to CAB officers by gardaí attached to the Milford District, Donegal Division, the Regional Armed Support Unit, Garda Dog Unit and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).
Over 70 personnel were involved in 23 searches across Donegal and Dublin West. These locations including dwellings and business premises.
Today’s searches relate to an ongoing investigation into the assets of persons suspected of being involved in drug trafficking on an international level.
This Organised Criminal Gang (OCG) operates within this jurisdiction as well as Scotland, Spain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
