Both Canada and Ireland made losing starts to the T20 World Cup and will be after responses when they meet in Nassau on Friday.
Canada were beaten by seven wickets by the USA in a high-scoring affair in Texas in their tournament opener, while Ireland were thrashed by giants India.
The Irish were skittled out for just 96 in their eight-wicket defeat but they know they are capable of more and will return to Nassau with a point to prove.
Team news
Canada may look to bolster their pace options for this match by bringing in Rishiv Joshi.
Harry Tector bruised his thumb following a bouncer from Jasprit Bumrah against India but Gary Wilson is confident he should be okay to feature for Ireland.
The stats
Canada have lost each of their last five completed T20 internationals.
In their defeat to the USA last time out, four of Canada’s six bowlers posted economy rates of 10.00 or above.
Lorcan Tucker has struck 233 runs in his last six T20 internationals for Ireland, the highlight being a knock of 73 against Pakistan in May.
Prediction
Although they lost their opener, they were facing one of the strongest bowling attacks on the planet with Bumrah and Hardik Pandya able to suffocate the Irish big-hitters.
But against lesser opposition, Ireland know how to mark their superiority, having beaten the Netherlands twice either side of a five-wicket win against Scotland in May.
And there is genuine quality at the top of the Ireland order in Andrew Balbirnie, Paul Stirling and Lorcan Tucker.
Any three of them can shine on their day and Tucker is worth a bet in the top Ireland runscorer market on Friday.
Canada’s opening clash with the USA featured a total of 391 runs and four of their six bowlers had economy rates in double figures.
They cannot afford to bowl like that in Nassau against the Irish, who will capitalise on such a frail attack.
Tucker looks primed to do the most damage. He scored just 10 runs against India but he enjoyed a terrific May, firing 51 and 73 against Pakistan, 40 against the Dutch and 55 against the Scots.
It is unlikely to take a mammoth total to top score for Ireland and Tucker, likely batting at three, is worth a wager.
