A PROPERTY in the capital was damaged after the river wall collapsed – and there are fears that their home will be “washed away”.
Many counties across the country were battered by mixed weather conditions, such as the severe cold snap hit with snow and rain, and temperatures were set to drop to a whopping -8C.
During the mixed weather conditions, many homes across the country suffered damage to their properties, such as power cuts and roof collapses due to heavy snow.
And a home in Inchicore, Co Dublin, was damaged by a “serious flood” after the Camac River wall collapsed.
Yesterday, the Dubliner took to X to share her distressing situation.
She wrote: “The Camac River wall has collapsed in Inchicore and caused catastrophic damage to my home. DCC and the OPW must repair the river wall before our home is washed away.”
She urgently pleas for Dublin City Council and Office of Public Works to get into action and prevent further “catastrophic damage” to her home and others highly affected by it in Inchicore.
Ellen shared some pictures on the platform, showing the devastating damage that the collapse of the river wall has caused.
The river was overflowing and destroying people’s properties, with back gardens being washed away.
And the debris was seen lying down on the river banks after washing away the garden.
She added that the supporting beam under the bridge had collapsed, causing “a serious flood risk” to the area and putting people’s properties at risk from the flood damage.
Another picture reveals the scary impact that the flooding has caused as the property was seen with no gardens and exposed pipes from under the house, causing fears that her home will be washed away.
It is currently unknown how much damage the flood has caused to the nearby properties.
The Irish Sun has reached out to Dublin City Council and Office of Public Works for a comment.
