Purchases of bare land will ‘ramp up’ this year, with sites already acquired in Limerick, Tipperary and Wicklow

The controversial fund set up last year by Coillte with Gresham House has bought over 5,000 hectares of forestry, according to figures released to the Irish Independent.

A further 750ha of forestry land, across 30 properties, has gone ‘sale agreed’. The fund has begun harvesting operations and will “ramp up” purchases of bare land this year, according to a spokesman for Gresham House.
