Coldplay singer Chris Martin shares moment with Dun Laoghaire busker

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has been spotted enjoying the Dublin coastline ahead of the band’s performances over four nights at Croke Park.

Coldplay will bring their Music of the Spheres tour to Dublin for four nights, starting on Thursday, August 29.

A video shared on Coldplay’s Instagram account shows lead singer and frontman Chris Martin relaxing alongside a local busker, named Gerry.

The video captures the superstar walking along the pier in Dún Laoghaire, with the caption, “So happy to be in Dublin. Pleasure to meet you, Gerry”.

The band hasn’t played in Dublin since the summer of 2017, so demand to see frontman Chris Martin and the rest of the band was sky-high when tickets went on sale last year.

Tickets for all four nights at GAA HQ – August 29 and 30, and September 1 and 2 – sold out within an hour of becoming available.

Gates to Croke Park will open from 5pm tomorrow, and promoters MCD recommend that customers arrive at Croke Park at least 45 minutes before the gig starts.

Aby Coulibaly is expected on stage at 6.30pm, with Maggie Rogers performing at 7.15pm. Coldplay is expected to take the stage at 8.30pm, with their performance lasting for two hours.
