A local community is rallying behind a Dublin garage owner after a devastating fire caused severe consequences for his workplace.
Located in the Irish capital, Horens Garage was recently ‘burnt down due to an accidental fire in a joining unit’.
The blaze resulted in €10,000 worth of tools being lost, along with two of the business owner’s BMW E30s and ‘a few other cars’.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Horens get a new unit to rent to work in and to help the owner ‘with the burden of replacing all his tools’.
‘Our friend Horens garage has unfortunately burnt down due to an accidental fire in a joining unit. Most of you know Horens from the car scene in Dublin and his love for BMWs.
‘Over €10,000 worth of tools was lost along with 2 of his pride BMW E30s and a few other cars.
‘We’re hoping to raise some funds to help Horens get a new unit to rent and help him with the burden of replacing all his tools so he can get back to work,’ the fundraiser read.
It continued: ‘Horens has helped many of you over the years with your cars and now it’s time we helped him.
‘Please give what you can to help him get back on his feet. All funds will go towards getting Horens tools.’
Seeking to raise €15,000, the fundraiser set up by a friend of the business has raised over €5,000 at the time of writing.
‘Thanks to all who have shared and donated. Hopefully we can reach the target and get horens back up and running as soon as possible,’ they said in an update.
