Season ends for the Cork footballers at the preliminary quarter-final stage.

The draw for the All Ireland Football Championship quarter finals has been made.

Louth were the final team to make it to the last eight after a one point win over Cork, 1-9 to 1-8.

After the game in Inniskeen, County Monaghan, Cork manager John Cleary said it was a very disappointing outcome.

He was speaking to Cork’s 96FM & C103 GAA reporter Finbarr McCarthy:

Reigning champions Dublin will face Galway in this year’s All-Ireland football quarter-finals.

Kerry have been drawn to face Derry, in what is a repeat of their semi-final clash last year.

The other ties will see Armagh play Roscommon and Donegal go up against Louth who beat Cork in the preliminaries.

All four matches will take place at Croke Park next weekend, with specific fixture details set to be confirmed later today.

Reigning champions Dublin will face Galway in the quarter-finals of the All Ireland Ladies Football Championship.

Tie of the round sees Kerry meet Meath while Armagh come up against Mayo and Cork will meet Waterford.

Games will take place on the weekend of the 6th and 7th of July.
