IRELAND’S men’s cricket team will tour Pakistan for the first time next year.
Cricket Ireland came to the agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Chairman Brian MacNeice met with his PCB counterpart Mohsin Naqvi — in Dublin for the T20 international — and agreed on a provisional tour in August/September.
MacNeice said: “This will be yet another historic first, coming after the tour to Pakistan by our senior women in 2022.”
Ireland shocked Pakistan in their T20 opener in Clontarf last Friday, securing a first win over the Shaheens since the World Cup in 2007.
But the visitors bounced back by easing to a seven-wicket win at Castle Avenue on Sunday.
The sides meet today in the series decider.
