Iarnród Éireann has reported ongoing disruption to DART and commuter services due to signalling issues.

The rail operator had previously said that major signalling issues were rectified and that services would resume subject to delays.

Delays of up to two hours were reported to DART services with significant delays to Maynooth and Northern commuter services as well as Sligo rail services.

Translink reported a 98-minute delay to the 17.50pm service from Dublin Connolly to Belfast.

Earlier, all DART and Dublin to Dundalk commuter services were suspended due to the fault, with Belfast services affected also.

There were resulting delays to Maynooth and Grand Canal Dock/Connolly to Hazelhatch/Newbridge commuter services.

Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets for affected services.

Iarnród Éireann has apologised to customers for the inconvenience and said it would update service information on its website.

It said its engineers are working to rectify the signalling issue.
