Paudie Clifford feels the current All-Ireland SFC format with three teams qualifying form groups of four ‘kind of feels like you are playing games and there isn’t much at stake’
With the hurt of Kerry’s All-Ireland semi-final loss to Armagh still lingering, if not, perhaps, still stinging, it was understandable that this year’s team captain, and last year’s, who happen to be brothers Paudie and David Clifford, weren’t too keen to rake over the coals of what was, ultimately, a disappointing season for them and for Kerry.
Nevertheless, the siblings had some thoughts on the group phase of the All-Ireland Championship, and the general consensus that three teams qualifying from a group of four has blunted the competitive edge for all concerned.
