Decathlon will open its new store in the restored Clerys Quarter on Dublin’s O’Connell Street at 12pm this Friday, June 28.
The new store, the sports company’s third in Ireland, spans two levels with a floor area of over 2,200 square metres and will create over 50 new jobs.
It will also feature the Decathlon express workshop on the ground floor, and a main workshop in the basement for repairs and maintenance to some of the estimated 26,000 bikes in Dublin city centre daily.
Customers can explore areas covering running, swimming, nutrition, yoga and Pilates, as well as hiking, camping, cycling and team sports such as GAA, soccer, golf and tennis.
Elena Pecos, CEO at Decathlon Ireland, said the company was thrilled to be opening its third store in Ireland this week.
“Clerys holds a special place in the hearts of many Irish people, and we are delighted and honoured to become a part of this legacy,” she said.
“Our commitment goes beyond offering sports products; it extends to creating a community hub where the people of Dublin can continue to build their active lifestyles and create new memories for generations to come.”
The first store opened in Ballymun four years ago, while the second opened in Limerick in 2023. There is now a 30-year agreement in place with Clerys Quarter.
All retail space in Clerys Quarter is now fully let, with Decathlon joining H&M, which opened its doors back in March.
A separate part of the wider development was sold last year to the HSE, which will use it as an outpatient facility for the nearby Rotunda Hospital.
