Celebrating 30 years in business is no easy feat, but KHAN, the storied Dublin fashion boutique has been catering to its loyal cohort of conscious clientele with both high fashion and ultra-wearable pieces since its inception. A cornerstone of village life in Blackrock (and a winner in THE GLOSS x The Shopkeeper’s Best Shops 2024), KHAN’s array of Irish and international labels has never been stronger, all curated by the expert eye of founder Deryn MacKay.
Think: homegrown talent such as hot-right-now accessories label August Night, founded by Simone Rocha alumna Caoimhe Grant, while Roisin Linnane’s striking and often architectural dresses in do-it-all black are perfect for partywear or black tie and beyond. Then there’s queen of cashmere Lainey Keogh. The Irish designer delivers on forever knitwear you’ll never want to part from. Speaking of cosying up, there are plenty of pieces that suit for hibernation season, from sumptuous shearling coats by London label Dom Goor to Max Mara The Cube, a diffusion range from the classic Italian brand that focuses on down puffers, parkas and reversible coats in technical fabrics. Don’t forget about the boutique’s in-house range KHAN Cashmere, which makes butter-soft scarves in wearable, neutral colours.
When it comes to big name international brands, the selection at KHAN is so discerning there’s little surprise that customers return year after year to artfully upgrade their wardrobe with some nuanced staples. Leading the charge is Dorothee Schumacher. The German high-end label has been doing ‘quiet luxury’ long before the term was trending in the fashion world. Meanwhile, straight-leg jeans by Paul Smith come in a wearable dark navy, perfect for teaming with a black or camel coat (we love the Aspesi camel style, pictured below) while Fabiana Filippi is a go-to for contemporary separates that will take you from desk to dinner.
Don’t leave without browsing the latest offering by Sportmax, which leans into bustier mini dresses, striking maxi dresses and nappa leather trench coats. All in enduringly chic black, of course: we’d expect nothing less.
