Anyone who knows Havana, the iconic independent fashion boutique in Donnybrook, will associate it with two things: exquisite pieces that hinge on contemporary luxury and a celebration of Irish design through the stable of striking indigenous brands stocked there. For over three decades, founder Nikki Creedon has been a distinguished custodian of Irish design, heritage and artisan craftsmanship, welcoming a host of homegrown labels into the fold at Havana – giving them both a platform and a sense of precedence within the industry. A haven for stylish Irish women, Havana marks its 30th birthday this year and the celebrations are a timely nod to Irish design with the boutique’s latest initiative – a month-long celebration of Irish design, craft and innovation.

Expect specially-curated capsule collections from some of Ireland’s best design talent, each one picked as they represent the three cornerstones of Havana’s design ethos: sustainability, quality and authenticity. This year, Havana is delighted to welcome ultra-modern milliner Rashhiid, whose striking headwear that taps into the Gen Z aesthetic has been worn and loved by celebrities such as Vanessa Hudgens and Ariana Grande, as well as dress label Geito, beloved for its beautifully constructed dresses that are perfect for any occasion. Meanwhile, there’s a focus on jewellery with two Irish brands: Helena Malone and Vivien Walsh, both admired for their fine craftsmanship and artisanal flair. It’s not just about fashion, either. There’s also organic skincare from West Cork brand Modern Botany as well as home decor buys from Fermoyle Pottery and candle brand Love In Light.

While you’re in store, don’t forget to shop the array of in-house Irish labels that constantly top our winter lust-list. From knitwear that plays with volume by Colin Burke (pictured in the main image, above) to fellow Irish knitwear brands Sphere One, Castanea and Sian Jacobs, all of which are cornerstones of modern Irish luxury. Fall in love with a whimsical Simone Rocha dress, or invest in a sumptuous suede piece by Róisín Gartland. Equally, The Landskein’s classic coats, woven by fifth-generation weavers in Co Donegal, are the zenith of outerwear.
