BOHEMIANS caught a stray from Dublin Airport’s social media team when a Shelbourne fan responded to a post about 2025 destinations.
The airport had initially put the question out there to followers of ‘Where are you planning on travelling in 2025?’
Despite their Champions League adventure still being far off in the horizon, one Shelbourne fan still had their looming Euro trips on the brain.
He replied: “Wherever Shels take me…just hopefully not Gibraltar this time.”
A fair shout since Damien Duff’s side had to eke out a less than glamorous 3-2 aggregate victory over St Joseph’s in last season’s Europa Conference League first qualification round.
But the Dublin Airport social media admin took things up a notch in their response by dragging Bohs into the mix.

They responded: “Further than we’ll be taking Bohs fans anyway.”
The unnecessary but funny one-liner was labelled ‘an absolute drive by’ by onlooker Aaron Byrne while others gave it the full ‘Make it a quote’ treatment.
The Phibsboro outfit did of course endure an extremely disappointing campaign while their rivals Shels, Shamrock Rovers and even St Patrick’s Athletic vied for the Premier Division title.
They wound up in eight place with just 42 points from their 36 league fixtures.
So far this off-season, the club has made just three additions — Colm Whelan, John Mountney and Niall Morahan — to a squad which saw seven departures at the end of the season.
Nevertheless, first-choice goalkeeper Kacper Chorazka stated his belief that they ought to be stronger next term in an interview with SunSport’s Neil O’Riordan.
He said: “I think if you check the average age of the team, we didn’t have enough experience.
“Now everyone is one year older plus we got some new signings which have experience so I think it will be much better.
“I don’t want to talk about our goals because we haven’t set them yet.
“But everyone knows that Bohs’ place is at the top.”
Plus Bohs are looking forward to the return to fitness of both club captain Keith Buckley and Rob Cornwall.
Buckley missed all of last season with a complicated ACL injury suffered in October 2023.
Meanwhile Cornwall tore his cruciate on the opening day of the season, having returned to Dalymount Park after two years in the USA.
And Chorazka said: “Even when they were injured last season, they couldn’t help us on the pitch but they helped a lot in the dressing room.
“Even last season we could feel their influence. Now when they will be on the pitch, it will be bigger.”
