Dublin Airport has announced plans to recruit up to 100 new security officers over the coming months.
Airport operator daa is advertising for a number of permanent full-time roles which, it said, offer a starting salary of €17.47 per hour, access to a pension scheme, career progression opportunities, subsidised staff meals and discounts in the airport.
As travel reopened after the Covid-19 pandemic, daa faced criticism for not having enough security staff which resulted in long delays for passengers.
Security staff numbers have been increasing steadily at Dublin Airport over the past three years as demand to travel through the airport has climbed to all-time highs.
Earlier this month, daa issued a response to Fingal County Council as part of its application to lift the airport’s annual passenger cap to 40 million.
“This is a particularly exciting time to join Dublin Airport, as we continue to improve the passenger experience,” Gary McLean, Managing Director of Dublin Airport, said.
Mr McLean said: “Passenger satisfaction scores in 2024 have been at record high levels and that’s down to the hard work of the incredible team that we have working here at Dublin Airport.
“The addition of these new security staff members will help improve the service we offer to passengers even more in 2025.”
