There were rapturous scenes in Terminal 2 at Dublin Airport today as we welcomed Team Ireland home from the Paralympic Games in Paris. A large number of family, friends and supporters gathered in the T2 arrivals hall to welcome home the 35 athletes who have performed so heroically at the games over the past few weeks.

A highlight for the large crowd was seeing Ireland’s six medal winners from the games arriving home, including triple medal winning cyclist Katie-George Dunlevy, swimmer Roisin Ni Riain and sprinter Orla Comerford.

According to Graeme McQueen, Media Relations Manager at daa, the operator of Dublin Airport: “Sporting homecomings are always special and this one was up there with the best and it was great to see such a big crowd at the airport to welcome the athletes home. We saw similar scenes last month when Team Ireland returned home from the Olympics and it was great to see T2 once again filled with smiles and cheers. We’re looking forward already to the 2028 Olympics and Paralympics in Los Angeles.”
