DUBLIN Airport passengers are set for a big boost as a game-changing new feature has been installed in Terminal One.
The airport now has all you need to ensure you’re set for your travels.
Dublin Airport took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal their new power bank station in terminal 1.
These portable devices store energy and can be used to charge electronic devices like smartphones, tablets, and laptops on the go.
The power banks come with built-in batteries and have multiple output ports, allowing several devices to be charged at the same time. T
They are especially useful when access to a power outlet is limited, such as travelling abroad.
And passengers now have the option of renting a charger with over 700 locations to drop it off nationwide.
They said: “Just landed and need to charge your phone? Maybe you forgot to pack your charger? Worry not!
“We’ve installed a new Jolt charging unit in T1 arrivals that lets you rent a charger with the option to then drop it off at more than 500 city centre locations (700 nationwide).”
This comes after holidaymakers using Dublin Airport are set to benefit from the reopening of a massive facility next year.
The 42-acre site, which has been out of action since 2020, will open its gates on March 10, 2025.
It will provide over 6,100 parking spaces under the new “Park2Travel” brand.
Located just 1.5km from the airport terminal, the car park will be connected by frequent complimentary shuttle buses.
This will ensure a convenient experience for travellers.
The facility is to be managed by APCOA, Europe’s largest parking company.
The company which operates car parks at major airports across the continent, including London Heathrow, Berlin Brandenburg, and Milan Malpensa.
Secure parking spaces in advance
Passengers will also benefit from a pre-booking system available at park2travel.ie, allowing them to secure parking spaces in advance.
This feature is expected to alleviate the high demand for parking that has caused issues in recent years, especially during peak travel periods.
Managing Director of APCOA Ireland Neil Cunningham said the reopening would be a game-changer for Dublin Airport passengers.
He explained: “We are delighted to have been appointed to manage this valuable asset.
“Increasing the supply of parking to meet the growing demand at Dublin airport and giving customers a reliable and convenient parking experience.”
