It is believed to have taken place in Ballymun.

Dublin Bus says it’s investigating an incident that appeared to show a child being struck by a man in a hi-vis vest.

A video surfaced earlier this week that showed a boy apparently being slapped next to a bus.

Dublin Bus confirmed it’s aware of the incident, and that an investigation is now underway:

“Dublin Bus is aware of footage showing an alleged incident occurring adjacent to a bus on the 140 route.”

We are actively investigating this footage. Dublin Bus is taking this alleged incident very seriously. The safety of passengers is of the utmost importance,” the spokesperson added.

The video shows the child interacting with another person standing on the bus, before being struck by the man who is also stood next to the bus.

The Garda Press Office has been contacted for comment.
