A EuroDreams player in South Dublin will be continuing their Halloween celebrations into the weekend after scooping a massive jackpot in Thursday’s (October 31) draw.

The player scooped the Tier 2 prize in a special promotion held for the October 31 draw, which guaranteed that one EuroDreams player in Ireland would win €2,000 per month for the next five years.  

 The National Lottery has since confirmed that the winning ticket was purchased on the day of the draw in Tesco Superstore, Rathfarnham Shopping Centre in Dublin 14.

Revealing that Tesco staff in the South Dublin store were thrilled to hear they’d sold the winning ticket, manager Gary O’Regan said: ‘Receiving a call from the National Lottery bright and early on a Friday morning was an unexpected surprise.

‘We were over the moon to hear that one of our customers has won €2,000 per month for the next five years. Everybody in the Tesco store here in Rathfarnham is delighted to have sold the winning ticket, knowing that it could be one of our loyal customers.’

He added that there’s a ‘great atmosphere’ within the store with customers checking their tickets and wished the players every success with their win.

The winning numbers that scooped the lucky player the eye-watering amount have been confirmed as 1, 6, 8, 9, 29, and 30, with the dream number being revealed as 4.

The National Lottery is urging players who may have purchased their tickets in the Rathfarnham supermarket to carefully check their numbers.

It is understood that the winning ticket has been placed on hold and when the winner scans their ticket on the National Lottery App or in-store on a National Lottery terminal, they will receive a prompt to contact the National Lottery.  

Spokesperson for the National Lottery Emma Monaghan told Extra.ie: ‘What a thrilling Halloween surprise for one of our EuroDream’s players! They’ve just become the fourth Tier 2 prize winner in Ireland, securing an incredible €2,000 per month for the next 5 years from Thursday night’s draw!

‘The October 31 draw was our third Tier 2 promotion of the year, ensuring at least one player in Ireland would win this fantastic prize.’

She continued: ‘We are urging all our players who may have purchased their tickets on the day of the draw at Tesco, Rathfarnham Shopping Centre to carefully check their tickets today.

‘The winning ticket has been placed on hold and the winner will receive a message to contact the National Lottery when they scan their ticket.’

EUROMILLIONS

Meanwhile, the EuroMillions jackpot for tonight, November 1, is expected to reach €100M as players have been reminded that tickets for the draw can be purchased online or in-store.

As usual, the cut-off point for ticket sales for tonight’s EuroMillions draw is 7.45 pm — could you be Ireland’s newest millionaire?
