Threats were made via an anonymous call to the school.

A school in Dublin was forced to close and send pupils home after a security alert was raised.

It happened at a primary school in south central Dublin last week.

The alert was raised last Friday when an a phone call was made to the school saying th two children were going to be targetted.

The Irish Independent reports that a second call was made warning the school would be burnt down.

The school’s staff then made the decision to close, as they worried about safety concerns.

It’s also believed that the incident is linked to an ongoing gang feud in the area.

Extra patrols are believed to have been ordered to the area ahead of a return to school next week.
