A lucky lottery player from Coolock has come forward to claim their €262,554 prize from the Euromillions draw.
The ticket, which had five numbers and one Lucky Star, was purchased on Saturday, August 31, at a Centra store on Oscar Traynor Road.
The win was from Tuesday night’s draw, where a Cork winner also scooped the same prize, along with a player in Sligo who managed to win €16,735.
The Sligo winner’s Quick Pick ticket was purchased on August 31 at Eurospar on Teeling Street in Tubbercurry.
The Cork player enjoyed their windfall after purchasing their winning Quick Pick ticket on the day of the draw at the Gala store and post office in Innishannon.
Shop owner Michael O’Murchu was delighted to hear that one of his customers had won big in Tuesday night’s draw.
“We have certainly been a lucky shop over the years, between big Lotto wins and different prizes on scratch cards too, so this is a great phone call to be receiving,” he said.
“We have a lot of passing trade with commuters going by every day, and of course, our locals in the community, so the winner really could be anyone.
“Let’s hope they check their ticket soon and realise just how much it’s worth. We wish the winner all the very best with their huge win!”
The winning numbers in Tuesday’s draw were: 07, 09, 11, 16, 45 and Lucky Stars 02, 05.
Tuesday night’s jackpot, which reached a phenomenal €132,447,715, had no outright winner, which means that Friday’s jackpot is now set to roll towards an estimated €150m.
