Fans of a storied sports bar in Dublin will soon be able to bid on items from the restaurant and go back into the building for what could be the last time.

Iterations of the Bogey Inn have been a fixture Glick Road for at least 40 years but the bar closed in 2022 after the owner died. The restaurant has had a strong connection to the annual Memorial Tournament at the adjacent Muirfield Village Golf Club, which bought the building in 2022.

Paul Delphia, a local auctioneer who’s running the sale, told The Dispatch that items up for bid will include branded patio tables and wine glasses — as well as a statue of Jack Daniels, two large inflatable gerbil balls, bounce houses and whiskey barrels. The building will be demolished, Delphia said.

Nicholas LaRocca, the general manager of the golf club, declined to confirm what’s next for the building but said further details would be announced next week.

A spokesperson with the city of Dublin said no demolition permits have been filed with the city.

An entity connected to the golf club acquired the 1-acre lot in 2022, Delaware County Assessor records show. The building has temporarily opened its doors to host live music events during the annual PGA tour but has otherwise remained shut down.

The auction was first reported Thursday by Columbus Business First.

When is the auction for Bogey Inn memorabilia?

An open house is scheduled for Oct. 20 at the restaurant, 6013 Glick Road.

Delphia said longtime fans of the establishment are welcome to come, whether or not they are planning to bid on auction items.

A full catalog of the items up for action will be posted on his website, auctionbydelphia.com, by Oct. 11. Delphia estimated about 700 lots of items will be up for grabs.

“A lot of the people in that area, it meant a lot to them,” Delphia said of the Bogey.

All of the action will be online, Delphia said. Auctions will start to close at 2 p.m. Oct. 24. Memorabilia items will be some of the first auctions that will close.
