A Dutch DJ has extended a ‘huge’ thanks to Gardaí in Dublin after they ‘saved’ his set at the Academy.

Marijn Van Vliet, also known as Marsolo, was one of the many acts announced to play at the Academy as part of their club nights on Saturday night.

The DJ almost had to cancel his set after his bag, which had his laptop, was snatched in Dublin city.

REPORT

The DJ proceeded to immediately report the theft to Gardaí at Store Street Garda Station and was able to give investigating Gardaí ‘a clear description of the person that took it.’

Garda Aine Redmond and Sergeant Chris Jones were on the beat in the area and apprehended the person matching the descrption at Eden Quay.

‘It was apparent that he was concealing items from both Gardaí,’ a post on the Garda Insta page confirmed.

‘THE SHOW GOES ON’

Marjin was reunited with his backpack — with laptop and passport still there — a short time later with Gardaí noting ‘the show goes on!’

Marjin shared the post to his own social media page where he extended his gratitude to Gardaí.

‘Another day at the office… What a weekend it’s been so far,’ he wrote, ‘Huuuuuge thanks to the Dublin police force for saving my set at the Academy.’

Others took to the comments section of the Garda post to extend their own thanks with one saying their year was ‘made.’
