Canadian automotive fleet management Element Fleet Management has announced its expansion into Ireland with plans to create 70 jobs at its new leasing hub in Dublin.

Executive vice president Chris Gittens, who previously led Element’s Candian business, will head up the Dublin operation.

Gittens also ran Element’s strategic relationships business focused on ‘mega’ fleets and served as the firm’s chief information officer.

Element offers fleet services to corporations, governments and non-profits in North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Its services include vehicle acquisition, maintenance, accidents, remarketing, and fleet electrification

The company’s move into Ireland is supported by the government through IDA Ireland, and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney welcomed the investment.

“As a global leader in fleet management, Element’s investment in the region is a testament to our welcoming economy and to the specialised and skilled workforce we have in Dublin and across the country,” he said.

Laura Dottori-Attanasio, president and CEO of Element Fleet Management, said: “Centralising accountabilities for our leasing function into a global leasing centre of excellence allows us to optimise related operations, drive greater strategic focus and ultimately further elevate our clients’ leasing experience.

“Ireland presents an ideal environment for Element to expand operations because of its rich pool of professionals who have specialised knowledge and expertise in the leasing industry.”

Element said it would undertake a comprehensive recruitment strategy to fill leasing function roles that require specialised knowledge and local insight.

Michael Lohan, CEO of IDA Ireland, said Element’s decision highlights Ireland’s attractiveness as a business destination.

“This decision to create 70 new jobs in Dublin underscores Ireland’s reputation as a leader in the leasing industry and Ireland’s success in cultivating an excellent business environment to attract investment from Canada and beyond,” he added.

Element anticipates net revenue of $1,365-1,390m in 2025, with adjusted operating income of $750-770m.
