Ireland will face Germany in the semi-finals of the European Ladies’ Team Championship.
Ireland booked their spot in the last four of Flight A in Spain with a comfortable 5-2 win over Denmark in the quarter-final while Germany dumped out hosts and table toppers Spain.
Ireland took the full compliment of points on offer in the morning foursomes and never looked back after Anna Foster and Aine Donegan combined for a 4&3 win before Sara Byrne and Beth Coulter edged to a 2&1 win.
Castlerock’s Annabel Wilson continued her fine form with a 2&1 win over Marie Eline Madsen while Coulter made it two from two with a 3&@ win over Cecile Leth Nissen.
Denmark did claim a full point after Byrne was beaten 3&2 while Foster and Donegan each claimed half points to ensure Denmark could not come back.
Meanwhile a disappointing week for the Irish Men’s side came to an underwhelming end as they were beaten 3-2 by Portugal in the Flight B quarter-final.
Ireland were also beaten 3-2 by Denmark in Flight B of the Boys’ Championship while the Girls also lost 3-2 to Holland in the Flight B quarter-final.
