The former Bond Girl visited Meath Street Youth Activity Company on Wednesday, a centre which hosts workshops, games and outings for children aged five to 13.
Staff were delighted with the visit from the film and TV star, who also recently featured in the movie Irish Wish.
Fran Dempsey, who is involved with the charity, said: “She was shooting a series down here. On Wednesday evening they called and asked us if they could use the office just to let the actors rest while they’re waiting to do their scenes.
“She is really one of the nicest people you could meet. She was down to earth; she was really nice and spoke to all of us.
“Seemingly, she funds a lot of food banks in America and Britain. She asked us to pass on our details, and she’d do something for us.”
The charity is also heavily involved with other projects in the area, and in recent months they have had to cut down on their food bank due to donations only stretching so far.
“Meath Street Youth Activity was set up by my mother-in-law 18 years ago. We look after kids, and you bring them out on trips during the summer. We do workshops with them too. On the back of that, we started the D8 Foodbank,” Fran said.
“We do a thing for people who died by suicide too. We created a tree of hope where we put 60 names on a bench beside a tree. It was a nice evening. My mother-in-law started that as well.”

Meanwhile, Jane Seymour hit a few other spots in Dublin during her time here. The actress danced on stage in Johnnie Fox’s pub on Sunday evening and learned a few Irish dance moves.
The 73-year-old danced to the song I’ll Tell Me Ma, later taking to social media to give her thoughts on her Irish dancing debut.
“There’s nothing quite like the thrill of doing something for the first time – like being pulled on stage at Johnnie Fox’s pub to learn an Irish dance,” she wrote.
“New experiences bring so much joy and energy into our lives. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it’s the trying that counts.”
The last day of filming of Harry Wilde took place yesterday, and Jane is hoping there’ll be a fifth season of the show.
“Loving my last day with some of our key Harry Wild cast members, and I’m feeling so grateful for this incredible team of actors and friends,” she said.
“What a journey it’s been together! Fingers crossed for a season 5 – here’s hoping we get to do it all again.”
