A French men’s GAA football team is to arrive in Dublin this week for a historic Irish tour.

Paris Gaels will play three Dublin clubs in a first in the French federation history.

The 15-a-side games will be held in Rathmines, Glasnevin and Howth.

They play Portobello GAA on Thursday, July 18 with a 7pm throw-in, Na Fianna on Friday, July 19 at 5.30pm and Beann Eadair GAA on Saturday, July 20 at 11am.

GAA France recorded 160 registered players in 2007. This figure has grown to nearly a thousand, spread across 27 different clubs all over the country.

Today, France has more players and clubs than any other continental European country

Paris Gaels GAA was created in 1995 and was the first club in Continental Europe to be affiliated with the GAA.

Their club aims to promote Ladies & Men Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie, Gaelic Handball as well as Irish culture in Paris, France and across Europe.
