Funerals of couple killed in Dublin hit-and-run on Friday

The funerals of the couple killed in a hit-and-run incident near Blanchardstown Shopping Centre on St Stephen’s Day will take place on Friday.

Georgina Hogg Moore, 39, and her 40-year-old husband Anthony Hogg, died after a car struck four pedestrians on 26 December.

Ms Hogg Moore, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene, while her husband sustained serious injuries and later died in Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.

The couple had two children.

The couple’s joint funeral will take place on Friday at the Church of St Philip the Apostle, Mountview at 11am, followed by a celebration of their lives at Dardistown Crematorium at 1.30pm.

John Halpin, 45, with an address in Whitestown Avenue, Blanchardstown, has been charged with four offences following the incident, including two counts of dangerous driving causing death.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
