Galway 1-14 Donegal 0-15
Galway have returned to the All-Ireland final after edging Donegal 1-14 to 0-15 in a dramatic semi-final in Croke Park.
Today’s victory sets up a final clash with Armagh, with the Tribesmen last featuring in the decider when narrowly losing to Kerry in 2022.
The sides were level at 0-10 to 1-7 at half time, with a Galway goal from Paul Conroy the key score, and they couldn’t be separated for long periods in the second half. Ultimately, Galway charged for home with key scores in the final ten minutes from Rob Finnerty and Liam Silke getting Padraic Joyce’s side over the line, while Donegal were left to rue a succession of second-half wides.
Galway last won the All-Ireland in 2001, while Armagh’s last triumph was the following year in 2002.
