Galway city and Tuam will host a homecoming today for the Galway senior football team and management following yesterday’s All-Ireland Final that saw them losing 0-13 1-11 against Armagh.
Today, July 29, the team will travel back to county Galway and the players will first stop in Tuam for an event organised by Galway County Council.
Doors will open in Tuam Stadium at 2pm with the team set to arrive between 3.30pm and 4pm when the players and the management team will be introduced to the crowd.
Later, a homecoming organised by Galway City Council will take place at Pearse Stadium.
Doors will open from 5pm with the team due to arrive between 6.30pm and 7pm when the players and the management team will be introduced to the crowd.
The event will have family entertainment before the team’s arrival in the stadiums It will be a non-ticketed and alcohol-free event.
The council warned motorists of possible delays in the area and advised patrons to park in council carparks and proceed on foot. Free Parking will be available at City Council Car Parks.
